Lead Controls Engineer

Stockton, CA
One of the most down to earth engineering managers is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer. In the last five years he’s only lost one member of his team – (it had nothing to do with the manager, I can assure you of that!)

What you can expect working on his team
This team is led by a manager who is known for how well he manages pressure. His projects are a direct result of the culture he fosters. He trusts his team and they trust him. His hands-off style might have something to do with that.  This is a client facing role with a team of curious minded, self-driven, self-directed engineers.

About You
As a Senior Controls Engineer you will lead controls systems architecture projects across Oil & Gas, Power Gen & Distribution and Water Systems. Your ease with clients will help you navigate the relationship between technical and business in this role.

If you don’t mind a challenge that brings out the Engineer in you this team works on plenty of complex projects. Get ready to crack your knuckles and jump right in!

As a Lead Controls Engineer part of the team dynamic is supporting your more junior teammates as they also learn and grow in their careers.  If you have 7+ years architecting controls systems from start to finish, we want to hear from you.

To be right for this opportunity you’ll have well rounded expertise across the following areas:
  • selecting the components to be used
  • detailing schematic diagrams
  • system documentation
  • programming controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU)
  • programming the process visualization (HMI/SCADA)
  • developing databases for archiving/displaying historical system data
  • implementing/commissioning the control system

Your Education & Tech Experience

Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science is required.

Tech Experience
  •  7+ years with PLC hardware/software platforms eg.  Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Modicon
  • 7+ years with HMI/SCADA hardware/software platforms eg.  Iconics Genesis64, Wonderware System Platform, GE Cimplicity, GE iFIX, Rockwell Automation, Siemens.
  • Experience in industries such as Power Gen & Distribution, Food and Beverage, Oil & Gas and Water.
  • 7+ years design of electrical schematics, including power distribution under 480VAC, control panels and associated NEC references
  • 7+ years programming experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% especially if you live outside of Modesto or Stockton CA.
Taking the next step in your career or just making a lateral change for better work/life balance is an important decision. To discuss this opportunity and qualify that it’s a perfect match for your needs please don’t hesitate to reach me on 617-543-5745 or email me your resume at tricias@rockpointsearch.com and I’ll reach you to set up a time to speak.

Thank you for considering this rare opening with one of our favorite clients here at Rock Point Search.
